The mechanism of the development of anemia in untreated chronic lymphatic leukemia.

چکیده
NEMIA is part of the natural history of chronic lymphatic leukemia. The etiology of the anemia has been attributed to a decreased rate of red cell production’3 and to an increased rate of red cell destruction.49 Prior studies have been based on estimations of ( 1 ) the amount of erythrobbastic tissue found in smears of aspirated bone marrow and in sections of the marrow at autopsy; ( 2 ) the red cell survival by Ashby or radiochromium technics; and ( 3 ) the rate of red cell formation by radioiron technics and reticubocyte counts. Furthermore, investigators of this problem generally have not taken into account the effect of therapy on the development of anemia. The purpose of this investigation was to studly the interrelationships of the peripheral blood findings, the histopathology of the bone marrow, and the red blood cell survival in order to elucidate the mechanism by which anemia develops in patients with untreated chronic lymphatic leukemia.

Investigation of SMAD3 and SMAD4 genes expression in CML patients and K562 cell line and association with chronic myeloid leukemia
Aim and Background: Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a clonal myeloproliferative disorder with cytogenetic characterization of the abnormal Philadelphia chromosome. This chromosome results from a reciprocal translocation between chromosomes 9 and 22. This is an important signaling pathway in the process of cancer cell proliferation and apoptosis, as well as the pathogenesis of TGF-β disease, i...
متن کاملAssociation between rs 1800561 CD38 Gene Polymorphism and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Risk
Background and purpose: Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is the most common form of adult leukemia characterized by the accumulation of seemingly mature type B lymphocytes in peripheral blood and lymphatic organs. One of the main markers used in the diagnosis and prognosis of CLL is the CD38 gene. Polymorphism is considered to be a major genetic source of phenotypic change within a species an...
متن کاملLow baseline serum albumin a predictor of anemia in patients on chronic hemodialysis
Background: Inflammatory process has a substantial contribution in the development of anemia in chronic hemodialysis patients. Low serum albumin in hemodialysis patients is considered a marker of inflammation. The present longitudinal study aimed to determine the relationship between low baseline serum albumin and future development of anemia. Methods: The population of this study consiste...
